Wanting to Help

okay I don't know how many of you watch American Idol but it is one of my addictions. I love that show. Currently my fav is Jordin Sparks, but I also really like Melinda Doolittle too. But that is not what I want to talk about right now. I really loved the show on Wednesday and haven't been able to stop thinking about all of the children in the world who are going without. I spent most of the show a little teary and grateful that I have healthy children and that I myself am healthy and will be here for my children. I have been trying to think of ways to do something to be of more help. I know that paying my tithing and fast offerings are a help and that that money goes to many good causes, but I feel like doing more. I think that I'm going to do some research on the web and try to figure out something that I can do. If any of you have any ideas or anything please let me know. One of the things that we are looking in to doing is foster care. I know that I can be of help to children right here and it's not like I'm not already taking care of kids. This way I will know that at least one child will be in a better place than they were before. I'll let you all know how this development turns out and keep you updated. I will try to be a bit better at keeping up on blogging more regular. It has been hard lately with unpacking and everything else, but I almost have my house all organized. Yahoo!

i love the country!

the kids and i woke up to a great treat this morning. out in our back pasture there were about eight deer prancing and playing. i think that it was 3 mommas and 5 babies. they were super cute but they did disturb our morning as we spent at least 20 mins just watching them out the window really cut into our precious time in the morning but it was fun watching the kids enjoying them. the kids have taken up bird watching too. they can identify a few birds now and can tell you if they are male or female. they get to do all of this because we are now in the country. it has been really nice out here. the kids are more willing to go out and run around and you get the pleasure of getting closer to nature. we are going to have to put up a fence around the garden for sure. with all these deer around I'm sure that they will try and eat our veggies.

blonde moment

okay so i complained in the last post about the phone not being hooked up. phill called and they said that they came and hooked it up. he said no because the phone is not working. they said that it must be a problem with the jacks and that it would be another week before they could come and hook it up. so we are annoyed at this point and go back to our own house and phill looks behind the cabinet where the phone is and says the phone isn't plugged into the wall. i guess that i forgot that part. we plugged it in and sure enough the phone works. now i have to call the phone company back and tell them that we don't need the service call anymore. tell them it was a blonde moment. i won't tell them that they don't need to know. you know i colored my hair but i guess that it doesn't matter. phill says the roots are what count. oh well it isn't my first blonde moment and i'm sure that it won't be my last.

crazy life

it has been awhile since i have been able to be on line. we haven't got our phone hooked up yet. so I'll try and update all that has been going on. we got all of our stuff out of storage this weekend and got moved into our new house. so i have done nothing but unpack boxes for the past few days. it is extremely tiring. not to mention the fact that i have been sick and the kids are out of school on Easter break this whole week. it is very nice to finally be in our own space with my own stuff. even though a lot of it is still in boxes. there is not enough storage in this place so i need more shelves. so the boxes will wait until i can get back to ikea and get some more shelves and things for storage. but for now we have all of the essentials out except for the phone which is starting to drive me crazy. i will email my new number to all those who need it. our address is still the same it is so much easier just to use a PO box besides they don't deliver the mail to your house up here. such a backwards country.

it's april

okay so it is now april and it is snowing up here again. it just teased us with the nice weather that we had for the last two weeks. we have rented a place of our own and will be moving in this weekend. super excited about that. It is sort of out of town so we are going to eventually get some chickens and maybe a cow or two to raise for food. it will be an adventure. we are going to attempt to have a garden this year so we will see how that goes.
