you know a dog will sleep anywhere but how about the kids. these cracked me up they must have been really sleepy.

planning the party

here are the invites for jeh's birthday party. we are doing an egyptian party this year. i will get some pictures during the party then i will post them. it is next week and i think that i'm just about ready for it. i'm just having a hard time with the fact that he is going to be 9 this year. it just doesn't seem possible. we are going to have a scavenger hunt for king tuts treasure, wrap the mummy game and a water relay so it should be fun and crazy i'm sure.

harry potter

well the book is in and of course because it was the last one we had to go to the party. here are the kids all dressed up in the costumes.
one of the activities the had durning the night. they were sorted into houses and joe and i got together and hy and kay were together. jeh and i were in hufflepuff and hy andkay were in slytherin
i think i took this picture of jeh at about midnight or so they were pretty tired by the end of the night
you can see the back of hy and kay in this picture they were haveing a cheer off with the different houses and their team won. it was so crazy and loud in there and the heat was incredible

here is a picture of the line up for the book. i was some where in the middle of the line. but i was standing all the way at the back of the store. it was fun but really hot in there.

i am now reading the book before the kids because i couldn't wait for them to read it first. half way through it right now i should probably have it done by tomorrow night at least i hope i will.

walmart sucks!!

i only say this because i went into do some shopping the other day and do you know what they had up already......shool supplies. can you even believe it. we have only been out of school for about three weeks and now i have to be reminded that we have to go back soon. i'm so not looking forward to it. i like school for the fact that it keeps the kids busy during the day and all but i'm not ready to get back into the swing of school now. book fairs, sports, assemblies, parent teacher conferences. all of these things mean non-stop running until the weekend and then even on the weekend sometimes. i just don't feel like i have recovered from last year yet and now everytime i go to walmart im going to be reminded that it is going to start all over again. and this is why walmart sucks!

we played frisbee as our form of entertainment for the day. i turned into tackle frisbee by the end of the day.

and here is the quiche that we made from them. it was very yummy. i even got to use some of my green onions from my garden. which by the way is really starting to take off. soon we should have a ton and i do mean a ton of zucchini.

i'm back

i have been having some technical difficulties with my blog page but they seem to be fixed now. i hope that you are all staying cool. i know it has been hard here. no air condtioner in our house so it can get pretty warm in here. i have been combating the heat with the pool. phill he has decided that he can't bear it so he has abandoned us for his parents house. they have air conditioning, go figure. i'm actually really enjoying the warmth i know that i have got maybe another month of the really warm weather and then it is going to turn into snowy weather again and then i won't ever leave my house again. well at least for 10 months anyway. other than the heat things seem to be doing well around here. phill is really enjoying his new job and it is nice to have him gone during the day. love ya but now i can actually get my work done too. hy has a job this summe and he has been working for three weeks now and has made $120. he is just walking the neighbors dog four times a week for an hour at a time but he is getting $10 each time. so for his first job it is pretty good. the amount that the has actually got to keep is only $58 the rest going to his tithing and mission fund. but that much is more than he would have had if he hadn't got a job at all and this way he is learning young to manage his money so it won't be so hard when he is older. im really suprised that he hasn't complained more about it, but i guess that is good. anyway the other two are way too busy playing to think of anything else. they are all getting quite tanned even i am. well that is life right now in the hovey house

the title isn't working right now so here is what is was going to say:

this morning i got my butt kick major

how you ask, well let me tell you. i have taken up swimming in the mornings and today was my first day. i knew swimming was good for you but holy cow im i sore. every muscle in my body got a work out. i did15laps of the pool. it is a 25m pool so that means that i did 750m and i did it in about 35 mins. i am so tired now i can barely lift my arms or my legs for that matter. oh yeah and because phill is still in need of our car for the time being i biked to the pool and back. it is a mile one way so not only did i swim but i biked two miles on top. i think that i have offically lost my mind. i did all of this from seven in the morning to eight this is including the time it took me to shower afterwards. so basically for all you west coasters i was up and excersised while you still were sleeping in your beds. unless you are crazy early risers.

i think that tomorrow that i will do maybe not as much but we will see how i feel in the morning.

yeah happy news!

we have got a job. phill was able to find a job that i think he will enjoy doing. he is going to be working for a company that installs and repairs atm machines and point of sale/debit machines in stores and banks. it is a job that is always changing and requires him to travel southern alberta. so it is right up his alley. i'm just happy that i'm going to get the computer back during the day now. he starts tomorrow morning yeah!!! just wanted to share our happy news.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

now we get to celebrate canada day instead of the 4th of july but they are pretty close. there are a ton of activities going on in lethbridge today so we are headed in to clelebrate. we should have pictures to post tomorrow of our celebrating. hope you all enjoy your holidays this week and be safe. no blowing off of fingers.
