last days of school

thought that i might share some of the pictures from the last days of school happenings.

5. jeh biking for the triathlon he also swam, and ran he was a true triathlete. he had to do three laps of each. when he finished swimming he was in last place but he caught up when he was biking and running he ended up coming in third or fourth place notice the no shoes and shirt.

i hope this works it is my first attempt at this new movie making website that i found. sorry that the video is a little blurry but it was really dark in the room and i basically can't run a camera well. kayla and her friends had to lip sync a song and do a dance with it for music class. they did really well a little corny but what do you want from fifth graders. there were alot of them that didn't do anything at all.

so i finally got the last of my garden planted this morning. i'm super excited about it. i hope that everything will grow. we already have radishes, corn, onions, and lettuce that has begun to sprout. happy about that. my herbs aren't doing so well so i placed them in a differnt window hopefully that will help them to perk up. so now that i have everything in the garden it means that the dog has to sleep outside so he can scare the deer away. i feel bad for my neighbors hopefully they all have sound proof houses so they won't hear him barking all night. we did warn them that it was going to happen so maybe they won't be too upset if they don't get much sleep. i would take some pictures and show you my budding garden but the hubby took the camera with him. i didn't realize how much i use that thing until it is not here for me to use. oh well hopefully i'll get my new one soon.

10 things

that make me happy. I honor of an email from mom im making a list of 10 things right now that are making me happy.

1. school is almost over yeah!
2. i have sprouts in my garden yum!
3. we have a new kitten her name is marilyn. so cute!
4. the weather is getting a little warmer everyday.
5. funky monkey smoothies (bananas and chocolate soy milk.)
6. my house is clean! that is a huge thing
7. my bright red crocs.
8. being able to finally wear my 20 pairs of flip flops
9. talking with friends on the phone for long amounts of time
10. having the house to myself all day because kids are in school and phill has gone fishing in montana for a week. quite is good!

you know it really wasn't hard to come up with ten things i've even got more i could write but i only put 10. my point is even with all of the troubles we are having right now i'm still happy a little stressed but basically im happy. we have everything that we need and we aren't in want for any of the basics. the extras maybe but you can live without them if you have to and we won't always have to live without those things just for now. life could be worse but for now i think life is good.

who, what, why, where and when?

these are important questions that a parent needs to know. not just when you are going to be out of the house with a friend but also for what is going on at school. for some reason my children do not find it necessary to let me know this information until maybe the morning of the event. we will be getting ready in the morning and i will get oh yeah, mom i need (enter money amount) for a field trip it's due today. well this morning i got oh yeah mom i have a concert tonight at 7:30 well i also had stamping club tonight that i was excited to go to all week now i don't get to go. i'm really bummed about it i enjoy doing stamping club and it is only once a month so it should be easy to work around, but not if you are not given that important info that is necessary for planning things. i think that the kids see me as just someone who sits around and waits for them to do something so that i too have something to do. i do have a life outside of them. at least i got to go to signing class today. colleen, she is the one who is deaf, bakes really well so next week she is going to teach me to make a cake. like the wedding cake type i'm really excited about that.

burn baby burn!

this is going to be my new theme song as i have done nothing but get burned for the last week my kids have got something going on outside all the time. today it was track provincals for kayla. it was a beautiful day outside and no shade so i burned more before anyone says anything yes i did put on sun screen but i always miss someplace today it was the chest so it is nice and red now. the weather today cooperated until kayla was done with her events when she was finished the heavens opened and it poured and poured. for some reason the stupid canadian government doesn't understand the purpose of having sloped roads and as a result i have never hydro-planed so much in my life. it was like driving on top of a lake. i do know how to drive in the rain but today was crazy. dumb canadians anyway.
